Non-intrusive Board Test
ScanWorks® non-intrusive board test solutions extend beyond JTAG
ASSET's Non-intrusive Board Test
Restricted test access on today's PCBs requires non-intrusive board test (NBT) methods, such as ASSET's market-leading ScanWorks Boundary-Scan Test solutions. But boundary scan alone can't fully address emerging technologies so ASSET has added innovative NBT tools to the ScanWorks platform: Processor-Controlled Test, Intel® IBIST and Core Instrumentation. Boundary-Scan Test
Boundary-Scan Test
ASSET continues to lead the way in boundary-scan test (JTAG), helping to define the standards for new test methodologies such as IEEE 1149.7. ASSET's ScanWorks Boundary-Scan Test solutions are extremely versatile, fulfilling the most challenging test requirements from board design through to manufacturing. The unique RIC-1000 controller allows LAN- or WAN-based board testing at remote sites. Simultaneous batch testing of multiple boards is supported. ASSET's Boundary-Scan Test IP can even be embedded into a board's standard firmware or custom ICs to provide continuously available, remote monitoring of mission-critical boards in applications such as data centers, communication networks, security systems, etc. Read more »
Core Instrumentation (P1687)

ASSET is a key player in the development of exciting on-chip, embedded instrumentation test procedures, defining the IEEE P1687 standard and working with market-leading companies to integrate these new technologies. Read more »
Processor-Controlled Test
Processor-Controlled Test
ASSET's highly-automated ScanWorks processor-controlled test (PCT) extends the coverage offered by boundary-scan test. PCT can diagnose faults in non-boundary-scan-enabled devices. It also tests boards at CPU operational speeds and can even find faults on non-booting boards. ScanWorks PCT is light years ahead of other CPU emulation products. The latest release includes visual and textual node-level diagnostics based on a board's component netlist. This includes extensive coverage reporting. It also has a built-in library of board device profiles for automated test generation. Read more »
Intel® IBIST
Eye diagram
It's very important to validate and test board designs that use high-speed Intel® QuickPath Interconnect (QPI) and PCI Express (PCIe) buses. The ScanWorks Intel® IBIST tool allows designers to visualize and optimize signal integrity, ensuring that these buses run reliably under all conditions, regardless of any component manufacturing tolerances or board design layout marginalities.
